My Current Reads 


What am I reading? That's a great question. I finished reading V.C. Andrews's Chasing Endless Summer on Wednesday, and on Thursday night, I read Creepers: Mirror, Mirror by Edgar J. Hyde. (That's has to be a pen name!) I placed a bookmark inside Douglas Preston's Extinction (an ARC) and another inside a library loan, Star Wars: The Living Force by John Jackson Miller, so either one will probably be my next read. I have one other library loan, Argylle by Elly Conway (a penname for Terry Hayes and Tammy Cohen), and two other review reads, Mark Greaney's The Chaos Agent and Anne Hillerman's Lost Birds, that I need to get to soon.

Billy's Thoughts

I usually don't write reviews for music albums because music is subjective, and everyone perceives it differently. For me, music helps me meditate and temporarily soothes my worries and troubles. Although I'm not a big fan of country music, I've watched a few music videos by Anne Wilson on YouTube and really liked her voice. Her REBEL album has a total of sixteen tracks and has a more '90s vibe than the current modern country genre. However, that doesn't mean it's bad because, as I mentioned earlier, I am not fond of country music from the last two decades.

As for my favorite song from the REBEL album, I absolutely love all the songs, but a few stood out for me. "Rain in the Rearview" is a powerful song; "Songs About Whiskey" has catchy lyrics; and "3:16" has a great tune and meaningful messages.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Anne Wilson's REBEL album. It's a beautiful album that blends Christian and country music. Each song in the album has a related tagline and bible verse because they were inspired by the question, "What does it mean to be a rebel in the world we live in today?" ╌★★★★★

[Review] — Taylor Moore's "RICOCHET" is a Solid, Thrilling Read


It's been about two years since I first stumbled upon Taylor Moore's Down Range on paperback. I'm always skeptical about new authors—especially when I've heard nothing about their debut novel—but I put aside my doubts, and read Down Range and enjoyed it. I must not be the only reader who liked because the third sequel, Cold Trail, is coming out in September. A review copy of RICOCHET, the third book in the series, was sent to me many months ago—last fall. Yeah, I know. I need to work on my procrastination issues. Technically, I did read the book twice, if that means anything.

[Review] — Tom Clancy's "COMMAND and CONTROL" is a By-the-Book Jack Ryan Thriller


I've noticed many readers are confused about the authorship of the newest Jack Ryan thriller, COMMAND and CONTROL (Available to buy on *Amazon.com). Although novelist Tom Clancy passed away over ten years ago in 2013, his name is still prominently displayed on the book cover, which can be misleading. Marc Cameron is the book's author, and his name is located at the bottom of the cover in smaller print, right under the book's title. There's also an author bio on the back flap of the book jacket that states that Tom Clancy died in 2013, so there's no excuse for not knowing of Clancy's demise.
